Renaultsport is unleashing its most honed Megane yet – the catchily named 230 F1 Team R26. The £19,750 hot hatch is based on the track-focused 225 Cup edition, but with power bumped to 230bhp, tauter suspension and a limited slip differential to boost traction. A rasping sports exhaust and ECU tweaks boost the 2.0-litre turbo engine’s power from 225 to 230bhp.
Flat Sixes is looking into a Porsche 914 for sale. The project car has a few questionable mods, and is selling for $10,000. Flat Sixes thinks it's a little overpriced considering the black painted windshield surround and body color bumpers, check it out at Flat Sixes or Los Angeles Craigslist.
VAUXHALL has boosted the performance of its three-door Astra GTC with the inclusion of a new 1.6-litre turbo petrol motor. Slotting in below the firm’s hot VXR variant, this latest addition to the Astra range boasts 197 horsepower and is the same unit that also powers Vauxhall’s premium drop-top, the Cascada. On-paper performance figures promise a brisk driving experience, with the 1.6 turbo Astra GTC topping out at 143mph and capable of sprinting to 60mph in 7.3 seconds.
